Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue has been a favorite dining experience for guests visiting the Walt Disney World Resort since its debut in 1974 at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. It is a fantastic dinner show for guests of every age, and its popularity is very well-deserved!
Hoop-Dee-Doo is located in Pioneer Hall at Fort Wilderness. The resort is tucked away behind Magic Kingdom and is accessible via complimentary water transportation. Water taxis run every 15 to 30 minutes between Magic Kingdom and Fort Wilderness, and will drop you off steps away from Pioneer Hall. Minnie Van Service can also transport you directly to the restaurant if you prefer to drive.
Hoop-Dee-Doo performances are held at 4 PM, 6:15 PM, and 8:30 PM most evenings, and reservations are highly recommended. There are three seating categories to choose from when making a reservation. Category 1 seats are priced highest since they are all on the main floor and arranged closest to the stage. Category 2 tables are less expensive and are set behind the Category 1 tables on the main floor and the second-floor center balcony of Pioneer Hall. Category 3 seats are the most cost-effective and are all located on the second-floor balcony, either on the right or left-hand side. These tables face away from the stage, but you can turn your seat to view the stage once the show begins. Wheelchair-accessible seating is available in both Category 1 and Category 2.
The doors open promptly at the scheduled show times, and the fun begins soon after! Your waiter will take your drink order once you are seated at your table, and then the food arrives. Be sure to bring your appetite because you’ll be dining on an all-you-care-to-enjoy feast of fried chicken, barbecue ribs, macaroni and cheese, cornbread, baked beans, coleslaw, salad, and an amazing strawberry shortcake for dessert. Everything is delicious and the portions are plentiful! For guests over 21, unlimited draft beer, wine, and sangria are also included.
In addition to the fabulous meal, you’ll also be treated to two hours of hilarious skits, catchy tunes, and delightful dance sequences performed by the Pioneer Hall Players – Jim Handy, Claire De Lune, Dolly Drew, Johnny Ringo, Flora Long, and Six Bits Slocum (everyone’s favorite!). They are a small but mighty group and are such a joy to watch. I guarantee you’ll continue chuckling, singing, and tapping your feet long after your evening with them ends!
Hoop-Dee-Doo also does an outstanding job of making guests’ celebrations extra magical. When the show begins, there is an opportunity to let the performers know if you or someone in your group is celebrating a special occasion like a birthday, anniversary, honeymoon, or engagement. Everybody celebrating a special event will be recognized with a special song during the performance. My daughter spent her 11th birthday at Disney World several years ago, and one of her favorite memories of that trip was the Hoop-Dee-Doo cast announcing her birthday and the audience clapping and congratulating her. It was a sweet and simple gesture that has since remained one of our family’s most treasured Disney moments.
We have been to Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue numerous times, and each visit is just as fabulous as the last! It is a wonderful place to enjoy an extra dose of pixie dust when celebrating a special occasion at Disney World. And more than anything, Hoop-Dee-Doo is an incredible opportunity to soak up even more of the magic that makes a Disney vacation so special.
