What do Mickey Ice Cream Bars, Mickey Soft Pretzels, Turkey Legs, and Churros all have in common? For many Disney fans, these are classic must-have snacks when visiting the theme parks. Personally, I get my hands on as many Mickey Soft Pretzels as often as possible whenever we’re on a Disney vacation. I love bread in any way, shape, or form, and this Mickey gem never fails to hit the spot. But if I had to guess which of these iconic foods most parkgoers would crown as the champion of all Disney snacks, I think the award would most likely go to the Dole Whip. This refreshing pineapple soft-serve treat has been a fan-favorite ever since 1986 when it debuted at the Enchanted Tiki Room at Disneyland Park, and its popularity has only continued to soar over the years. This simple yet mighty dessert is the stuff of legends and, judging by the amount of Dole Whip merchandise I’ve seen at the parks, has a very passionate and devoted fanbase.
In our household, we definitely all count ourselves as part of this group of enthusiasts and I am thrilled to report that we have found a way to get our Dole Whip fix even when we are miles away from the nearest Disney theme park. About a year ago, I stumbled upon Delish Loves Disney, a special edition magazine filled with a treasure trove of recipes from the Disney parks and resorts. Delish Loves Disney has quickly become one of my go-to sources for recreating our favorite vacation foods at home, including the one and only Dole Whip. Their 3-ingredient, 2-step recipe for this delicious pineapple sensation is as quick and easy as it gets!
You’ll need frozen pineapple, pineapple juice, and vanilla ice cream to get started. Each ingredient is measured and added to a blender and then whipped together until the mixture is smooth. Divide the sweet and tangy pineapple goodness into separate bowls; then, close your eyes, imagine you are in the magical hustle and bustle of a Disney park, and enjoy!
So simple, and oh-so-good! The full recipe follows below to get your own Dole Whip fix at home. And if you’re feeling adventurous, add some extra pineapple juice and a straw to your dish and you’ve got yourself a Dole Whip float – perfection!
