In early March 2020, Walt Disney World and Disneyland closed their theme parks and resorts indefinitely due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, tens of thousands of Cast Members were furloughed or laid off in the months that ensued. It was a devastating time for everyone impacted, but the Disney community is nothing if not resilient and simply downright inspiring. Cast Members made the best of the unprecedented situation and mobilized efforts quickly to find a way to support one another financially during this tough time. They created Ear For Each Other, a group where affected Cast Members can publicize their side hustles and talents that lie outside of their roles in the Disney parks. Hand sewn face masks, handbags, and purses, custom Mickey ears and clothing, handmade drinkware, jewelry and accessories, homemade baked goods, beautiful home décor – the offerings here are endless! Ear For Each Other is a true one-stop shopping experience for all things Disney-inspired.
One of my favorite discoveries from the Ear For Each Other group has been Jennifer Cetoute’s custom wood sign business, Three Little Signs. Jennifer lives with her husband and three children in Winter Garden, Florida, and is a server at the Plaza Restaurant in the Magic Kingdom. Three Little Signs had been a side business for her but then became her main priority after she was furloughed from her position at the Walt Disney World Resort last year. Jenn makes gorgeous farmhouse-inspired signs, many of which include a touch of Disney magic. She cuts, sands, stains, and paints each wood sign to order. You can pick up your order if you are local to the Orlando area; otherwise, she also offers shipping. I recently received the first sign I ordered from Jenn, and to say that I am totally obsessed with it would be an understatement! It is absolute perfection and I CANNOT WAIT to display it in our home!
