Must-Do Fall Experiences at Walt Disney World

Fall is officially in full swing at the Walt Disney World Resort, and with the change in season comes many opportunities to enjoy offerings, old and new, that are sure to enhance your time while on vacation.  If you are visiting The Most Magical Place on Earth now through October, consider adding some of these Fall Disney World bucket list items to your plans to make the most of this cozy season!

Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit

Enjoy this exciting scavenger hunt throughout Epcot searching for hidden pumpkins decorated to look like popular Disney characters.  To join in, purchase a game board and stickers at participating locations, then explore the park to look for the pumpkins.  When you find a pumpkin, mark its location on your board with a sticker.  Once the game board is complete, visit any redemption location within Epcot for a souvenir keepsake.

Epcot’s International Food and Wine Festival

Stroll through Epcot and sample delicious foods, desserts, and drinks from around the world at this popular annual festival. In addition to the numerous food and beverage offerings at over 30 Global Marketplace booths spread across the park, there are also unique scavenger hunts guests of all ages will love, live music, and performances every evening as part of the Eat to the Beat Concert Series, and fabulous festival-exclusive merchandise to commemorate your visit.

Minnie’s Seasonal Dining at Hollywood and Vine

Visit Minnie Mouse and a few of her best friends for lunch or dinner at this Halloween-themed character dining experience inside Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The characters are dressed in their spooky season best, which makes for fantastic photo opportunities!

Resort Hopping for Seasonal Treats

Take advantage of Disney World’s convenient transportation options to explore the Disney Resort hotels and sample their exclusive seasonal treats. Each resort offers something unique, like cookies and cream Ghoulish Beignets at Disney’s Port Orleans – French Quarter, Pumpkin Soft-Serve at the Polynesian, and an apple and caramel Whoopie Monster cookie at Art of Animation. This is a great way to spend a rest day outside of the parks!

Halloween Exclusive Snacks and Drinks

Keep an eye out for special Halloween-themed food and drinks at Disney Springs and the parks. From the Candy Corn Soft-Serve Sundaes at Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies in Magic Kingdom or the Creepy Mudslide at Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar in Disney Springs to the Pumpkin Lunch Box Tart at Woody’s Lunch Box in Hollywood Studios, there are plenty of Halloween treats to try all season long.

Fall into Magic at Disney Springs

In addition to all of the delicious specialty drinks and treats available throughout the season at Disney Springs, you can expect plenty of opportunities for Halloween-inspired live entertainment here as well. Enjoy performances by the Skeleton Stiltwalkers, Zombie Drummers, Squad Ghouls Acapella Group, and the Roving Pumpkin DJ on select evenings through October 31st.

Treat yourself to some of the festive fall merchandise at the gift shops. Most of the offerings are sold for a limited time only, so if you see something you love be sure to buy it to keep the Spooky Season spirit alive long after your trip. 

Magic Kingdom Fall Decor

Wander through the Magic Kingdom and enjoy all of the stunning fall decorations – garlands and wreaths in bright golds, oranges, and reds, Mickey-shaped pumpkins and wreaths adorning the lampposts, and a variety of Jack-o’-Lanterns and scarecrows. Be sure to snap some photos on Main Street U.S.A. to capture all of this wonderful autumn magic! 

Fall-Themed Photo Shoot

Stop by the Disney PhotoPass Studio at Disney Springs for a complimentary photo session with Halloween-themed photo backdrops. And when visiting Magic Kingdom, ask Disney PhotoPass photographers to add fall-themed Magic Shots to your photos. Pluto jumping in leaves, Halloween Mickey balloons, and a vintage black-and-white overlay are some of the Magic Shots available to enhance your photos now through the end of October.

Haunted Mansion & Tower of Terror at Night

Haunted Mansion and The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror are fantastic attractions any time of the year and, particularly in the fall months, they are a definite must-do. For an extra dose of spooky thrills, time your rides on these Disney classics for after dark. There’s nothing like experiencing these fan favorites and then walking out to a starry night sky! 

Fort Wilderness

When you book a stay at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground, you can participate in various Halloween activities like a pumpkin decorating contest, a glow pool party, a golf cart parade, and trick-or-treating. In addition to these planned events, you can also stroll through the campground at your leisure to check out the amazing decorations that guests bring to celebrate the holiday.

Resort Campfires

There’s nothing quite like cozying up to the crackling flames and warm glow of a campfire to end an autumn day – and at Disney World, you can do just that! Every evening (weather permitting), Disney Resort hotel guests are invited to watch the sunset and roast marshmallows by a campfire. Afterward, enjoy a complimentary screening of a Disney movie under the stars. Each resort has its own rotation of movies that are shown, but you can definitely expect plenty of family-friendly favorites!

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

If trick-or-treating throughout the Magic Kingdom, seeing your favorite Disney characters and villains dressed in their Halloween best, and amazing Spooky Season entertainment are your dream, then this event is a must for you! This special ticketed event is held on select nights from 7 PM to midnight, now through the end of October.  Throw in lighter crowds and it’s really a potion for a magical night!

Fireworks Cruise

If you prefer a lower-key end to your evening, consider booking a nighttime cruise to watch the fireworks in the privacy of your own watercraft.  You’ll set sail on Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake and enjoy a prime view of Mickey’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular from the water.  Light snacks and soft drinks are included with every cruise.
