Toy Story Land

May 13, 2024

In June of 2018, Disney Imagineers brought the world and characters of the beloved Toy Story movies to life with an immersive 11-acre land that has since become one of the most popular destinations at Walt Disney World. Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida is a dream come true for every fan of this Disney/Pixar franchise! This area of the park is expertly themed for visitors to feel like they’ve been shrunken to the size of a toy to join Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and other friends in Andy’s backyard and features two restaurants (one quick-service and one table-service), daily character greeting opportunities, family-friendly entertainment, and three attractions sure to please guests of all ages.

The attractions at Toy Story Land are quite tame by thrill ride standards, but they are still plenty of fun. On Alien Swirling Saucers, you’ll take a spin on toy rocket ships piloted by the adorable three-eyed vending machine aliens.

Get your sharp shooting skills ready and compete in five unique carnival-style games in 4D against family and friends to earn bragging rights for the highest score on Toy Story Mania!

And hold on tight to the coils of Andy’s favorite toy pooch as you enjoy an exciting roller coaster ride exploring the yard on Slinky Dog Dash.

In addition to these gentler thrills, there are plenty of chances to say hi and spend some time with Andy’s toys. Green Army Men make regular appearances throughout the day, and are so much fun to interact with!

A select few are also part of the Green Army Drum Corps. This incredible group marches through the land at various times daily to entertain guests with their impressive percussion skills. They draw quite the crowd and rightly so – they are so much fun to watch! And, of course, a day at Toy Story Land wouldn’t be complete without seeing everyone’s favorite sheriff, cowgirl, and space ranger.  Meet and Greet opportunities with Woody, Jessie, and Buzz Lightyear are available daily, at the entrance to Toy Story Land and in front of Toy Story Mania. The characters are a joy to watch as they interact and make memories with guests of every age.

After spending a morning or afternoon enjoying everything the land offers, you’re bound to work up an appetite.  Luckily, you won’t have to travel far!  Within Toy Story Land, two dining locations are available to sit down, relax, and grab a bite to eat.  Breakfast, lunch, and dinner options are served daily at Woody’s Lunch Box, a quick-service walk-up eatery that is themed to look exactly like it sounds! It offers outdoor seating and popular menu items like Lunch Box Tarts (think Pop Tarts, but with a Disney twist) and fan-favorite Totchos (a unique take on nachos with tater tots as the base).

For sit-down dining, reservations for lunch or dinner are available daily at Roundup Rodeo BBQ.  This fun, kid-oriented restaurant opened in Spring, 2023 and is the newest addition to Toy Story Land.  Imagineers created an adorable backstory that the restaurant came to be when Andy built a rodeo arena from cardboard boxes that he found in his yard.  He used his crayons to add plenty of decorative touches and filled the space with all his toys once he was done and ready to play.  The restaurant’s servers take on the role of Andy’s toys and, if you are so inclined, you can also play along and be part of the rodeo.  When it’s time to put away the toys and eat, you’ll be treated to an all-you-care-to-enjoy BBQ feast, served family-style.

Bringing the world of Toy Story to life at Hollywood Studios is one of my favorite things Disney Imagineers have ever done. The heartwarming, comedic charm of the iconic films is captured so well throughout the land, and it is so neat to have the chance to become part of Woody’s and Buzz Lightyear’s adventures. It has been a hit since its opening day and it will surely continue to delight visitors for years to come!
