Walt Disney World Resort Options For Larger Families

February 3, 2025

Planning a Walt Disney World trip with a big family? Finding the perfect spot to fit everyone comfortably can feel like a challenge, but don’t worry – Disney knows how to make room for the whole crew! From spacious suites to multi-room villas, there’s something for every big family to call “home” at the Most Magical Place on Earth. Here’s a look at some of Disney World’s best accommodations for bigger groups to make your stay as magical as possible.

Value Resort Family Suites

If budget is your priority, consider the Art of Animation or All-Star Music Family Suites. The accommodations are among some of the most affordable, but fewer frills and amenities are provided here than at resorts in the Moderate or Deluxe categories. Less frills, however, equates to a fantastic price point AND plenty of space to comfortably accommodate up to 6 people in these beauties!

At the Art of Animation, each family suite has a bedroom with a queen-sized bed, a living room with a full-size sofa bed and a full-size Murphy bed (that folds up into a table with chairs by day), a kitchenette with a coffee maker, sink, microwave, and small refrigerator, and two full bathrooms.

The family suites at Disney’s All-Star Music Resort consist of a bedroom with a queen-size bed, a living room with two queen-size Murphy beds, a kitchenette with a coffee maker, sink, microwave, and full-size refrigerator, and two full bathrooms.

Both resorts are very kid- and family-friendly and offer many fun activities, amazing photo opportunities, and great food courts to help you stay within your budget.

5th Sleeper Rooms at Select Moderate Resorts

Disney’s “5th Sleeper” rooms at Caribbean Beach and Port Orleans – Riverside are a great option for families of 5 with young kids. These rooms are furnished with two Queen beds and a child-size pull-down bed (that can be used for storage and as a sitting area when folded up). The dimensions of the pull-down beds at these resorts are smaller than a standard Twin bed and are best for kids under 100 pounds.

When staying at these moderately priced Disney Resort hotels, families will also enjoy enhanced amenities and extra perks, like sit-down dining options and larger, more elaborate pools with fun waterslides.

Fort Wilderness Cabins

When you think of “glamping,” the new cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground are 100% it! These sleek and roomy fully-furnished cabins sleep 6 and include a living room, bedroom, kitchen, full bathroom, and a private patio with a grill and picnic table. All of this is tucked away in the cozy Wilderness woods and just a relaxing boat ride away from Magic Kingdom.

In addition to the comfort and extra space the cabins provide, you’ll also enjoy access to a variety of resort activities like horseback riding, archery, fishing, carriage rides, and even a lively dinner show. It’s one of Disney’s best-kept secrets for a unique and unforgettable stay!

Deluxe Villas

For plenty of extra space and amenities, consider booking a villa at one of the Disney Vacation Club resorts. Choose from one, two, or three-bedroom options at:

  • Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort
  • Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
  • Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas
  • Disney’s Beach Club Villas
  • Disney’s BoardWalk Villas
  • Disney’s Old Key West Resort
  • Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows
  • Disney’s Riviera Resort
  • Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa
  • The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

Each villa features a fully equipped kitchen, generous living spaces, separate bedrooms, a private balcony or patio, a washer and dryer, and thoughtful details to ensure your stay is as comfortable as it is magical. For an upscale, one-of-a-kind stay, luxurious cabins at Copper Creek and overwater bungalows at the Polynesian are also available.
